If you are a perfume hoarder like me, this one is a must read for you!

Rated 4.5 on TripAdvisor, Molinard Parfums in Nice, France, offers one of the most famous perfume workshops in Nice. While planning my trip to Nice, this was in my 'must do' list. Hence I pre booked my tickets on Viator

Molinard Parfums is strategically located in the city centre. I entered this place and at that very instant, I fell in love. It was a perfume heaven! Every scent that one could think of, was there.

I was greeted by a beautiful French expert perfume-maker who quickly jotted down my details and took me through the history and production of French Perfumes.

I was informed about the origins of some of the most famous perfumes and what contributed to their popularity. My instructor then explained the different types of perfumes: Eau de Cologne, Eau de Parfum, Eau Fraiche and Eau de Toilette. I was then asked to get seated on a table which had different essential oils like rose, almond, lavender, musk, sea, coconut, rice, sandalwood etc filled in black bottles. The 3 notes in each perfume were then explained: top, heart and base. Post this I was asked to put my new-found knowledge into practice and create my own perfume from the 90+ ingredients kept in front of me. I hand-picked different essential oils to create my own special blend.

At the end of this workshop, I received a Diploma and I also got to take home a 1.75-fl oz (50-ml) container of my personalised Eau de Parfum.

This was one of the most surreal experiences of my trip!
